Guide
For MICA's PGDM and PGDM-C, the admissions route requires both academic eligibility and the exam combination. Current MICA information states a bachelor's degree or equivalent recognised qualification with at least 50% marks/equivalent CGPA, with final-year candidates allowed subject to the current documentation conditions.
The exam combination matters
For PGDM/PGDM-C, applicants need a valid CAT, XAT or GMAT score and must also appear for MICAT. MICAT is not a replacement for the national test. MICA conducts MICAT twice and considers the better score under the current process.
Final-year students
If you are still completing the bachelor's degree, read the current MICA guide carefully for the certificate/result deadlines. Do not copy last cycle's date into your calendar; provisional admission conditions are administrative rules that can change by batch.
Fit is part of the selection logic
Meeting 50% and writing the exams does not make the process score-only. MICA explicitly looks for candidates who can express, assess and conceive ideas that create business impact, and the selection includes MICAT-specific creative/psychometric/descriptive evaluation plus later GE/PI.
Before paying, confirm the exact programme—PGDM-C, PGDM or another MICA school—because admission requirements can differ. For PGDM/PGDM-C, think of eligibility as degree + national test + MICAT, then prepare for the qualitative stages rather than treating them as an afterthought.
Make one administrative checklist
For MICAT Eligibility: CAT/XAT/GMAT + MICAT Explained, keep a single row per action: official form, separate institute application, payment proof, document requirement, next deadline and current status. Verify the requirement on the official portal before payment.
This sounds basic, but admissions often fail administratively rather than academically: a student writes the right exam but misses the programme form, sends the wrong attempt, or discovers a programme-specific eligibility condition too late. Treat the checklist as part of the admission strategy.
The exam-specific reason this matters
CAT/XAT/GMAT is mandatory in addition to MICAT. Psychometric is a qualifier; MICAT aptitude and descriptive sections have cutoffs; selection continues to GE/PI. That is why the advice on this page should be tested in the MICAT format itself, not inferred from CAT performance. Record the result in one sentence after your next timed attempt: what did you change, how many marks/questions did it affect, and will you repeat it?
