Guide
MICA 2027 admissions are open; MICAT is conducted twice and the better score is considered. MICAT should not be prepared as a renamed CAT. CAT/XAT/GMAT is mandatory in addition to MICAT. Psychometric is a qualifier; MICAT aptitude and descriptive sections have cutoffs; selection continues to GE/PI.
The paper at a glance

Who should take MICAT?
MICA PGDM-C / PGDM; brand/marketing/communication-focused specialist route. Start with the colleges you would genuinely join, then decide whether the extra preparation is worth it. Registering for every exam because it is a “backup” creates calendar cost, application cost and mock-preparation cost. A useful exam portfolio covers target schools without forcing you to learn too many unrelated formats.
What CAT preparation already gives you
CAT/XAT/GMAT is only one part of the route. MICAT adds psychometric, creative/descriptive and specialist aptitude filters, so conventional aptitude alone is not enough. The highest-return transition is to keep the fundamentals that transfer and spend your new preparation time on the features CAT does not train directly. For MICAT, the biggest additions are: Psychometric; descriptive writing; divergent thinking; MICA fit; CAT/XAT/GMAT + MICAT sequencing.
A practical preparation sequence
First take one exam-specific diagnostic under the correct time/marking rules. Second, identify the two areas where your CAT habits fail—for example speed, direct grammar, GK, adaptive pacing, a specialist section or no-negative-marking end-game. Third, spend 7–10 days on those gaps before taking the next full mock. Finally, use every mock to refine an exam-specific attempt plan rather than carrying one strategy across all MBA tests.
The right question is not whether MICAT is “easier than CAT”. It is whether you can convert its particular rules into a better rank/score than the candidate pool and whether that score opens colleges you actually want.

Why On Your Mocks?
A mock score tells you what happened. OYM helps you understand what went wrong and what to work on next.
