Guide

MAH MBA CET has no negative marking, which changes both question selection and the final minutes. The correct strategy is not to solve every question in order; it is to collect high-confidence marks quickly, then make sure no question remains unanswered at the end.

First pass: speed, not perfection

You have 200 questions in 150 minutes. That is an average of 45 seconds per question—before accounting for harder LR sets or RC. Take direct questions immediately, mark medium ones for return, and abandon any question that requires a long proof/calculation during the first sweep.

Second pass: buy the medium marks

Return to questions where the setup is clear but needed another minute. This is where CAT-prepared students often recover marks: the concepts are known, but the CET version rewards a faster method or option elimination.

Final sweep: use the no-negative rule

With no penalty for wrong answers, every unanswered question should receive an answer before time ends. Reserve enough time to complete that sweep. This does not mean random guessing from minute one; it means random guessing is better than a blank only when no solving time remains.

Track “questions seen” in mocks. If you finish with 25 untouched questions, your primary problem is coverage. If you touch all 200 but accuracy is poor, the problem is rushed decision-making. Those require opposite fixes. The no-negative rule is valuable only when paired with disciplined pacing.

Put this rule into one measurable experiment

In your next MAH MBA CET mock, change only one behaviour connected to mah mba cet attempt strategy. Decide the rule before the timer starts, then record its effect on attempts, accuracy, questions unseen and time lost. 200 questions in 150 minutes makes speed decisive. Multi-slot normalization means raw score→percentile is highly slot-sensitive. No negative marking changes end-game attempt strategy.

If the experiment improves score but creates a new section collapse, it is not yet a usable strategy. Repeat it once on a different paper before locking it. Exam strategy should survive a harder set or unfamiliar question mix; otherwise it is only a lucky mock pattern.
