ATMA mocks need to reproduce the feature CAT mocks cannot: six separate 30-minute sections. A generic three-hour aptitude test will not show whether you can reset and maintain pace across Analytical I, Verbal I, Quant I, then the second round of the same skills.

What one mock should test

Before starting, choose one experiment: opening pace, a skip rule, or a method for the final five minutes of each section. Keep everything else stable. That makes the result interpretable.

Analyse section pairs

Compare Analytical I vs II, Verbal I vs II, and Quant I vs II. If the second version is repeatedly weaker despite similar difficulty, the problem may be fatigue or recovery between sections rather than syllabus.

Track more than total score

Record attempts, negatives, unanswered questions, time sinks and question types missed in each 30-minute block. ATMA's +1/−0.25 means a late guessing spree can look active while reducing net marks.

A useful mock cycle

Mock → same-day high-level review → next-day re-solve wrong/slow questions → 2–3 targeted drills → next mock. Do not take another full paper until you can state what will be different.

The purpose of ATMA mocks is to make six-section pacing predictable. A strong total that depends on one unusually easy block is less valuable than a slightly lower score you can repeat across papers.

Put this rule into one measurable experiment

In your next ATMA mock, change only one behaviour connected to atma mock strategy. Decide the rule before the timer starts, then record its effect on attempts, accuracy, questions unseen and time lost. Six tightly timed 30-minute sections; 200+ B-schools; fee concessions officially offered for women and North-East candidates.

If the experiment improves score but creates a new section collapse, it is not yet a usable strategy. Repeat it once on a different paper before locking it. Exam strategy should survive a harder set or unfamiliar question mix; otherwise it is only a lucky mock pattern.
